Rob Oliphant is the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs, which meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am - 1:00pm.

During the sitting of the 40th Parliament the committee has studied/is studiying the following subjects:
-Study on the office of the Veterans Ombudsman**
-Report on Plans and Priorities 2009-2010 of the Department of Veterans Affairs**
-Decoration of room 112 North Centre Block**
-Comparison Study of Veterans Services Offered by Members of the Commonwealth and the G8**
-Bill C-201, An Act to amend the Canadian Forces Superannuation Act and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Superannuation Act
-Review of the New Veterans Charter
-Agent Orange Compensation
-Transfer of Ste. Anne's Hospital
**Mr .Oliphant was not a member of the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs when these indicated studies were undertaken.
Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security
Rob Oliphant served as a a member of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security from January 2009 to March 2010.
During his time as member of the Public Safety and National Security Committee was part of the study of the following subjects:
-Statutory Review of the DNA Identification Act
-Statutory Review of the Sex Offender Information Registry Act
-Study into the use of Tasers
-Study on Border Security
-Review of the Findings and Recommendations of the Internal Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati and Muayyed Nureddin (Iacobucci Inquiry) and the report from the Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar (Arar Inquiry)
-Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Customs Act
-Bill C-34, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and other acts
-Study of Federal Corrections: Mental Health and Addiction
